FAQ on IMC-K, RAs-K and migration
International Migration Centre- Karnataka (IMC-K) is an initiative of the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood (SDEL), Government of Karnataka. It guides and counsels the youth with regard to their desire and willingness to explore overseas employment opportunities and benefit from them. You may find more information about the IMC-K here.
The unique features of the IMC-K include the support to it by an expansive network of government and private institutions involved in skilling, employment, training and employment. An ecosystem of district-based migration services providers, two State Government-run Recruitment Agencies (RAs) -KVTSDC & KSUWSSB, a unique Migration Facilitation Architecture (MFA) with Migrant Information Centres in all the districts, and a trained pool of staff to guide, counsel and recruit youth based on their strength and requirement of the employers are salient features. The Migrant Information Centres (MICs) in coordination with the RAs- KVTSDC & KSUWSSB guide and counsel the candidates who have registered on the IMC-K Portal and build an employment trajectory based on the skill profile and willingness. The RAs, thereby, connect the candidates to skilling centres, if required, or try to match the profile of the candidate with the available employment opportunities and conduct recruitment. The MICs & the RAs will also guide the candidates on all aspects of recruitment, including connecting to migration-related service providers as appropriate.

The Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC) and Karnataka State Unorganised Workers Social Security Board (KSUWSSB) are the two State Government-run Recruiting Agencies (RAs). Both are registered with the Protector General of Emigrants (PGE), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India (GoI). Click here for more details.
You can register with the IMC-K Portal in two ways irrespective of where you are located –
(a) Visit your nearest MIC or (b) by signing up on the IMC-K Portal here and register.
Yes. Log in with the User credentials and use the Edit Profile option to make necessary changes and update your profile. Login.
You can approach any of the Migrant Information Centres (MICs) or Migrant Regional Centres (MRCs) for details on recruitment and migration costs.
You submit a grievance on (a) the MADAD Portal of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), or (b) on the IMC-K Portal using your login credentials. Alternatively, you always can call one of the MICs / MRCs and submit your grievance. Please ensure that you have all the details w.r.t employment abroad including the passport details.
You can track the status of your grievance by using MADAD mobile application or through MADAD Portal on URL www.madad.gov.in
If you are not an existing user, please follow the following steps:
- Click ‘Grievant Registration (For Grievance)’
- Insert your details and get login ID
You can also track the status of your grievance by using MADAD mobile application:
- Go to Home page of MADAD mobile application
- Select Track Grievances screen
- Enter your Grievance ID, Captcha (Security Code)
- Click Submit.
